"Lynn Miles makes being forlorn sound like a state of grace." New York Times
"
Miles’ startling insights about bad choices and desperate needs in songs like 'Wrong' and 'Rust' make her a captivating performer." USA Today
"Miles delivers it all with an every-woman expressiveness in a voice that combines with Lucinda Williams and Shawn Colvin. Her poetic, insightful portrait of the human spirit – upbeat despite its difficult honesty, is truly inviting." Tom Roland, The Tennessean
"As director of The Ark acoustic music club in Ann Arbor for forty years from 1968 to 2008, I presented literally thousands of performers, including many wonderful singer-songwriters whose music I now cherish. Of all of these, I find myself listening to the music of Lynn Miles more than that of any other performer who played the club. Her melodies are stunning and I think many of her lyrics are absolute poetry capable of standing alone. If you love good music and you致e never really listened to her, you owe it to yourself to do so soon. I can easily say Lynn Miles ranks as my favorite singer-songwriter to have ever played The Ark during my tenure over the last forty years. Flat out my favorite." -
Dave Siglin
Compared to the likes of Shawn Colvin, Lucinda Williams and Joni Mitchell, Lynn Miles is considered one of Canada's finest singers/songwriters.
Her latest album, Love Sweet Love, is a road album. Songs like “Night Drive”, “Sweet and Tender Heart”, “8 Hour Drive” and “Never Coming Back” trace the metaphorical journey of the human heart, sketching a roadmap of modern relationships and heartache.
Miles recorded Love Sweet Love with a first-rate collection of Canadian musicians: Unravel (Lynn’s previous and Juno-winning album) producer, guitarist, longtime-friend and collaborator Ian LeFeuvre and drummer Peter Von Althen (both of the Canadian band Starling); Chelsea Bridge double-bassist John Geggiem; Prairie Oyster guitarist Keith Glass and violinist James Stephens all lend their talents to Love Sweet Love. The result of this collaboration is a warm, hopeful sound in perfect harmony with Miles’ smart, heartbreaking lyrics.
